7Acre Construction is a family business. Brian Macuga Sr. runs it, his sons Brian Jr., John, and Joe run operations, projects, and job sites, and Tate keeps the books. When you hire us, the people planning your project and the people standing in your house share a last name, and that changes how decisions get made.

Brian has been building since 1992. He started as a laborer and a carpenter, worked his way through custom homes in Santa Fe and production building in Atlanta and Orlando, and eventually became Vice President of Construction for a national builder here in Charlotte. Over five and a half years in that role, his team built and serviced more than 3,700 homes and ranked in the top five nationally for customer service, taking first place for overall quality along the way.

He launched 7Acre in April of 2024 to build the way he'd always wanted to: a smaller number of projects, done carefully, for families who care about where they live. We handle whole home remodels, kitchens, additions and ADUs, luxury baths, custom homes on your land, and commercial upfits across the Charlotte metro.

Most of our work happens in established neighborhoods, in houses with fifteen or twenty years of living behind them and real character worth protecting. That's the work we're best at, and it's the work we like most.

Brian Macuga, Sr.

President

Brian brings more than 36 years of construction experience, working his way from general laborer to Vice President of Construction for Pulte Homes. He has also owned several renovation, remodeling, new construction, and land development companies. Today, he and his wife are continuing that experience through 7Acre alongside their sons.

What Brian enjoys most is seeing a project transform from concept to a finished space homeowners can enjoy, while passing his knowledge on to the next generation. A University of Michigan graduate, Brian spends his free time brewing beer, rebuilding cars, writing, enjoying live music, and watching his family thrive. And despite what his daughter says, his favorite color is black...not purple.

Brian Macuga, Jr.

Operations

Brian Jr. brings more than 10 years of experience in remodeling and new construction, with a background spanning project management, procurement, and estimating. For him, the most rewarding part of building is helping transform lives by turning houses into dream homes, whether that means building from the ground up or reimagining a space a homeowner already loves.

A Butler University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Brian Jr. enjoys fishing, carpentry, football, playing softball, and spending time with his dog. His favorite color is navy blue, which may or may not have played a role in his decision to attend Butler University. We’ll let you figure that part out on your own.

Tate Macuga

Accounting

Tate brings eight years of experience in the construction industry, working both in the field and the office with a background in project management and bookkeeping. His favorite part of the job is simple: getting to work alongside family and contribute to the business together.

A University of South Carolina graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Tate enjoys playing guitar and writing music, reading, camping, and putting his green thumb to work in the garden. And fittingly enough, his favorite color is dark green.

John Macuga

Project Manager

John brings six years of experience in remodeling and new construction, working his way from assistant project manager to full-time project manager. His favorite part of building is transforming a space into something a homeowner needs or has always dreamed of, and getting to watch that transformation take shape from start to finish.

John graduated valedictorian from North Carolina State University with an Associate of Applied Science in Horticultural Science Management. With plenty of his free time spent near the water fishing, John will tell you his favorite color is blue. Although, he’d also argue that camouflage is a color and another favorite, which seems fitting given his love of hunting. When he’s not fishing or hunting, John enjoys watching football, tackling yardwork and landscaping projects, and fixing just about anything he can get his hands on.

Joe Macuga

Jr. Superintendent

Joe is currently pursuing a degree in Petroleum Engineering at LSU while gaining some hands-on experience in the construction world. And while he may jokingly describe that experience as “sweeping many floors,” he values the opportunity to work closely with both family and customers, where clear communication helps keep every project running smoothly.

Outside of work and school, Joe enjoys playing volleyball and video games, along with spending time with friends and family. Considering he’s an LSU Tiger, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that his favorite colors are purple and gold.

Where We Work

7Acre Construction is based in Charlotte and works across the metro on both sides of the state line, licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina. Most of our remodeling happens in established neighborhoods where the homes have individual character. We also build custom homes and take on commercial upfits for offices, retail spaces, and more throughout the region. 1 | Initial Conversation

We start with a conversation about what you'd like to build, when you'd like it finished, and what you're comfortable investing. You'll know quickly whether we're the right company for the project.

2 | The Plan

We'll present you with a sketch plan of your project and a written scope. By the time there's a construction contract in front of you, you'll also have complete drawings and a schedule.

3 | Built, Then Backed

We walk the framing, wiring, and plumbing with you before any of it disappears behind drywall. At the end, you'll see the finished space before sign-off, with a full warranty year behind it.
